Setting out for Robben Island

Friday dawned, bright and cloudless and we knew that we were going to have
a wonderful trip to Robben Island! All the children and the transport arrived at school on time.
18 Grade 5's, together with Mr Jamakanga, their teacher, and me, arrived at the Waterfront with 10 minutes to spare. I even found a free carpark! The picture is of the children waiting for their tickets, in front of the clock tower.
The trip across was very smooth, but 3 children suffered sea-sickness.
It was wonderful to listen to them asking questions and listening to all the information they were given.
For those who have never visited the island, make a date to learn more about the history of South Africa.
This was an experience no-one will forget soon!
